Tolan R, who competed at 1.50m level, has a KWPN jumping index of 127, which indicates that he significantly improves his progeny’s jumping ability. He consistently produces quality, blood – type foals that are brown, bay, black or grey but no chestnuts.
This good looking, modern blood type, black stallion comes from the prized Dermie dam line, a family that has produced Grand Prix performers such as Toys R Us, Zandigo and Belle de Jour, together with a line of approved breeding stallions including Mermus R (also available), Odermus R and Wender R.
Tolan R competed up to 1.50m level with Anne-Liza Makkinga. The duo placed well in competitions including the CSI3* shows in Lommel and Kapellen as well as the CSI2* show in Zuidwolde. Tolan R further demonstrated his versatility when clearing 2.05m in the Puissance class at the Gelderland CSI3* show. He is the first stallion of the T – year to sire a KWPN approved-son, the successful performer Zazou R. Showjumping progeny include Vanquer, sold to the stable of Dutch Team rider Leon Tyjson. Lanaken finalist Cocq A Doodle can now be seen at Grand Prix level under Molly Ashe Cawleyin the US. The talented Brightly competed with two-time Olympic team Gold medallist McLain Ward prior to being purchased by Eden Valley Stables.
Tolan R is establishing himself as a dual-purpose sire through his eventing progeny which include Arco BB, Choices BB and Dolan T (Deo Volente) sold for €28,000 at the KWPN event horse sale at Boekelo in 2013. 2015 saw Arco BB make his eventing Nations Cup debut while Dolan T went on to represent Team Great Britain at FEI World Breeding Eventing championships for Young Horses.
In 2017, the 3yo Toledo R (Tolan R x Crosstown Dancer x Cruising) sold for €21,000 at the Goresbridge Go For Gold Sale!
