Holsteiner • Brown • 2008 • 174 cm
This big-framed stallion’s strength and expression are very impressive. The Clarimo son steeped in athleticism boasts the typical Holsteiner flow of movement, rhythmic and very ground-covering at trot and canter. Jumping is his forte. Due to his scope and ability along with excellent reactions, he is a very promising jumper with high prospects.
At 5- and 6- year old, he placed 3rd at the Elmshorn State Championship, moreover, he qualified for the Warendorf National Championship in 2013 and 2014 and won 5 young jumper classes at M Level in 2014. At 7, he has first results in jumper classes at S level under Maximilian Gräfe. Crunch has been at Rolf-Göran Bengtsson’s yard since September 2015 and has already been competed in three international level jumper classes without incurring jumping faults. “I am very pleased with Crunch’s first competition in Odense. The stallion feels just right for me, and I am looking forward to our common future”, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson said following the Odense and Flyinge horse shows with Crunch.
His sire Clarimo has his box stall next to Casall Ask’s at Rolf-Göran Bengtsson’s yard. Crunch’s dam Shamrock I – a big framed Canturo daughter – stands out for her excellent canter. She also produced the top-selling lot of the 2014 Neumünster auction, Dito by Diarado, which was sold to Chris Chugg, the successful international rider who used to have the ride on Vivant, at 110,000 euros. His 2nd dam, Herzdame II, also produced the international jumper, Lakey by Lasino, a starter for Canada under Christina Mailin, and the successful S level jumper Ragnorök 2 by Lavaletto.
Same as in previous years, Crunch had a promising champion foal in 2015 as well. The breeding district East Holstein saw a Crunch daughter out of a Calato-Contender dam bred by the breeding syndicate Redderberg win the foal championship. All in all, six Crunch foals from this year’s crop qualified for the foal championship.
