Boasting an exquisite modern shape, Baracuda is a son of international top jumper Baloubet du Rouet. The athletic appearance of this very modern stallion is characterised by his expressive face, alert eyes and good lines. Baracuda’s chestnut colour and blood horse appearance are due to his bloodline with several crosses to Rantzau, a French TB stallion known for his ability to stamp his offspring over four generations.
His way of going is very regular, carried by increasingly powerful hind quarters. He boasts a successful jumper’s key abilities – intelligence, technique, manner, carefulness and ability.
Under Thomas Konle, Baracuda put up an outstanding performance during his first season in 2014, winning 10 young jumper classes at L and M level and placing third at the Holsteiner State Championship in Elmshorn and 2nd in the Dobrock Deister-Preis. Further produced and lightly competed by Christian Hess in 2014, Baracuda qualified for the national championships in 2015 as well. Moreover, he achieved first results in FEI jumping classes.
His sire Baloubet du Rouet is considered one of the most successful jumping horses. Under Rodrigo Pessoa, he took gold at the Athens Olympics in 2004 and won the world cup final three times in a row. Baloubet du Rouet headed the WBFSH jumper sire rating also in 2012 and 2013.
Other representatives of stem 7020 include Caldato who chalked up results at international S level under Hugo Simon and the successful FEI show jumpers Josephine and Funky Town.
Baracuda’s dam, district premium mare Miss Cosma, has already produced offspring with achievements to S level. Her sire is the high profile stallion Contender. This exceptional stallion’s offspring are on everybody’s lips, primarily due to his internationally successful sons Montender under Marco Kutscher, Checkmate with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Carlo under Sergio Alvares Moya and Collin, three times winner of the Hamburg Jumping Derby with Toni Haßmann. The two following stallions in the female line, Constant and Cinzano, two highly successful sport and breeding stallions, are Car de la Bryère sons.
His first crop earned him a positive breeding value for gaits and impulsion estimated at 123. Four Baracuda foals qualified for the respective breeding districts’ foal championships.
